Little Rock Marathon

So I'm not a runner, but I loved this race. On Sunday I ran the 1/2 Marathon Relay with my friends brother. I got to see parts of Little Rock that I rarely see on foot. I know you all like to think that Little Rock is some small backwater community, but it really i s quite vibrant (although yesterday I did see a cowboy in the middle of 5:00 traffic riding a palomino). I ran through Little Rock's Historic downtown neighborhood, the Quawpaw Quarter. The race also runs past my church. Right before I was about to turn the corner near my church, I caught one of my Sunday schoolers skipping class. I stopped and "helped" him find his way back to the Lord's House. Then I decided to have a bit of fun. The day before I joked with my folks that I would run through the sanctuary in the middle of the sermon on race day. They thought I was joking, but I wasn't. As I took my errant pupil through the vestibule I decided to run all the way through the building. Jogging through the building I briefly stopped in the Pastor's study to sup rise the pastor. It took him a few seconds to recognize who I was. Then a turned and ran the entire length of the building to the Sunday School, where everyone was in class. I think the older people were a little taken aback. But who cares, they're old. My godparents thought it was funny. I interrupted every class said good morning and ran outside to join the race. I liked running in the marathon. It was awesome. And I HATE running. I interrupted the entire Sunday School, but they can't say I missed church. ;)
